I’m a self-confessed super-cool science geek. I’ve got a pretty good broad understanding of science and technology, but my real interests lie in geophysics and earth sciences. I’m also very interested in scepticism and critical-thinking…nothing beats a good ol’ fashioned debate about pseudoscience!
In my non-geek world, I love cycling, pretending I can cook, obsessively watching horror movies, reading (mostly horror), fantasizing about the day that I can afford a social life again. And knitting. Yes, knitting.
I’m in the final death-throes of my PhD on geomagnetism, and am about to be launched into the real world for the first time in my life. Before the horror of becoming a slave to the PhD, I did my MESci in Geology & geophysics at Liverpool University.
Alas, I’ve been a student for my entire life. So unless working in a local supermarket, or wiping old people’s bums in a residential home counts as a career, I’m afraid I don’t have one. But watch out world, I’ll be free to earn my millions soon!
