Bio

I was born in West Chicago, but grew up primarily in Northern California. I spent some eleven years living in Tracy, Ca, and that environment had a large impact on my political views and personal shaping. I have a strong desire for the world to become a place where everyone has the option to pursue the best career for them.

Education

I graduated from California State University Stanislaus last year with my BS in Computer Science. I’m now a direct-to-PhD student in CS at University of Illinois at Chicago. My focus is human-computer interaction, with a spotlight on children and epistemic ubiquitous gaming.

Career

My first year as a grad student, I worked with Dr.Dale Reed on a recruiting project where I was given the opportunity to tell high school students about computer science. This summer, I’m working on a project with Dr.Leilah Lyons that involves simulations, AR, and high school biology.
